Equifax.
Equifax was formerly
known as the Retail Credit Company. It is an organization widely used
by insurers to obtain information on applicants for underwriting purposes
and sometimes on claims. Their reports are known as Retail Credit
Reports.

Experian is one of three credit reference agencies in the UK. Similar
organisations exist in other European countries and the USA. We keep
information on people's credit histories. This information is available
to lenders to help them decide whether or not to accept credit applications
from their customers.
